Wayne County Council of the Arts

Welcome to Wayne County Council for the Arts. Based in Newark, NY and serving all of Wayne County and the surrounding area Wayne Arts was established as a non-profit organization in 1977. Wayne County Council for the Arts, Inc. promotes arts participation and arts appreciation for artists and the public. We believe the arts reflect and define who we are and guide our growth as individuals and as a community. Wayne Arts offers a variety of services to members and the community including classes, workshops, exhibit space, a gift shop and special events.

The Apple Shed

The Apple Shed season begins in June with the start of strawberry season and continues with sweet cherries in early-July, followed by tomatoes, blueberries and peaches starting mid- to late-July. Apple season begins in late-August, then in late-November we offer fresh-cut and u-cut Christmas trees.

Kraai Preserve

- This preserve features woodlands and the stream corridor along the Ganargua Creek with floodplains, wetlands, and ponds. Across the creek from the Wayne County Norsen Park, the preserve protects a long stretch of Ganargua Creek. Trails wander along the creek and in the woods, where over thirty species of wildflowers carpet the woods each year.

Premier Martial Arts has been in business for more than 20 years, and since our founding in 1998 we have helped thousands of students of all ages realize their full potential. Premier Martial Arts delivers a best-in-class martial arts experience that helps our students develop the personal skills that are necessary to build a successful life. Scarlet Thread Youth Center - Newark

Scarlet Thread Ministries is a youth focused ministry that exists to connect with youth by helping to meet the spiritual, social and physical needs of middle and high school youth throughout Wayne County, New York.

These lasting connections are made in after-school Youth Centers and through purposeful events and service projects. Our desire is to help teens make a lifelong connection with Christ and with the local Church. From tutoring, to Bible studies, to recreation and regional events, we are committed to demonstrating Christ’s love as we meet youth where they are.

Perkins Park

For parks that will meet everyone's needs, visit Perkins and Ross Parks - both are open May 1st through October 15th. Perkins Park is centrally located in the middle of the Village with public parking. It has three covered pavilions and a concession building with public restroom facilities. The park has a children's playground and plenty of room for a variety of outdoor activities - youth baseball/softball fields and walking path.
